    Updating this damn thing
So I suck ass at updating my "journal". I just don't have the mindset. Maybe I'll drop in with something to say or change my mind, but since no one actually reads anyway, it doesnt matter ;). I continue to go to law school. Having that first semester under the old belt is an excellent feeling. The hardest part is not knowing what to expect or where you stand. I ended up doing quite well. Let's cross our fingers that I can keep it up. I didn't expect to do as well as I did, I just wanted justification for living in the library for the month of December. Now it's nice to know I might have options.

Best showing in a multi table
I've only played 2-3 multi table online tournies, but had my best showing last week. Third out of 300 something. Good chunk of change.

    Law School Finals Suck
SSIA. I'm kind of wondering if this is FINALLY the part in life that lives up to all the hype. High school was supposed to be so much harder than junior high, and it wasn't. College was supposed to be SOOO much work and I didn't work at all. Now I'm working. We'll see what happens when this month is over. As a plus, the law library at Lewis and Clark is way more comfortable than my undergrad library, but I guess that's to be expected.

Hooked. Watch 8 episodes at a time. I finished disc five last night, and even though blockbuster online will send me the other by Monday, I have to go rent disc 6 tonight and finish it up. Blockbuster will have to settle with sending me season 2.

    "Not a bad beat story..."
The "Did I play this right" post on rec.gambling.poker is by far AS annoying if not MORE annoying than a bad beat story. A bad beat story in sheeps clothing if you will. Never liked the interface before, but I'm leaning more towards 2+2 forums now. I learn more there considering it's impossible to sift through the junk on rgp. I just need time to play.

Favorite Song of the Moment: The Promise, by When in Rome, thanks to Napoleon Dynamite. There something about the happy side of goth culture, i.e. new wave, that is comforting. I'll stop the world and melt with you....

    Fast Cars
Driving down the freeway, what do you see in your rearview mirror? Some guy in a Mustang or CRX or some crap coming up on you like you were standing still even though you're going ten miles over the speed limit. This is associated with "fast" cars, like the mustang or corvette or something, but the fact is, an Astro Van could go the 90 mph that the "fast" car is going. Thus, the owner of the car wants to drive fast and crazy, so they buy a fast car. Do they even realize they could be doing the same speed in an Astro Van? Who really knows. Think about it.

    Sirius Satellite Radio
Continues to show promise. Hopefully it breaks out of this under $5 stint it's got going (and by stint I mean it's entire existence) and makes me some money, dammit.

    Explanation...
My journal title is not a reflection of my political views. I wanted a title, and while I don't subscribe to the song's message, I to some degree appreciate the reactionary nature ot it when so many of the Hag's contemporaries are on the other side.

    First Post
Damn exciting, isn't it? I wanted my username to be The_Admiral, but that's taken. I haven't run into that problem before, even though it makes sense that I would have. The_Admiral or some variation has been my screenname ever since Philosophy 101 my freshman year of college. I would randomly choose whatever popped into my mind and we were reading the whole "who am I, why am I here" bit from Admiral Stockdale and I've used it ever since. Likewise, my password hasn't changed for most of my major things and it's a reference to something that I ZERO connection with anymore. Works out though. Who knows how often I'll update this. Law school can be both very busy, and very boring, thus giving me little time to post but a very valid excuse TO post. We'll see how that goes. Whisky river, take my mind....
